Instant Recipe!
  1. Mix the premix with 500ml water and keep it aside for 15 mins.
  2. In a large vessel, put stand and boil water. Take 1 ft dia. Round thali and apply oil on its inner surface and put it into vessel.
  3. Add masala sachet in batter and whip it, spread on greased thali.
  4. Steam for 15 min and allow to cool for 10 mins, cut into pieces.
  5. Crackle mustard, cut green chillies in 1 tbsp oil . Mix 400ml water and 120g sugar and boil for 3 mins. Add the tempering to this mixture.
  6. Pour boiling mixture onto the cut Khaman pieces.
  7. Garnish and serve with freshly chopped coriander leaves and shredded coconut.

Dhokla
Pakka Gujarati!

A close cousin of Khaman, Dhokla is a vegetarian culinary dish that is found predominantly in the Indian State of Gujarat and parts of adjacent states. Made from a fermented batter derived from legumes like Chickpea, Pigeon pea, Urad and Rice, Dhokla makes a wonderful and light breakfast. Make it with the Ramdev effect and rest assured your Dhoklas can be easily enjoyed as main course, as a side dish, or as a snack.

  1. Mix premix into 560 ml water and whip it.
  2. Add crushed green chilli,ginger,garlic and keep it aside for 15 mins.
  3. Whip it and steam for 15 mins.
  4. Heat 1 tbsp oil and put some mustard seeds, sesame and a pinch of Ramdev Hing. Once the seasoning is ready, pour over hot dhokla.
  5. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve with chutney!!!

Handvo is a savory vegetable cake finding its origins in Gujarat and is a part of the Gujarati cuisine often made with a bottle gourd filling, though many other vegetables can be added.
